Baroque for Modulation

These selections to enhance attention and learning have been approved by Sheila M. Frick, OTR for use in an Therapeutic Listening program. The CD features the music of Vivaldi, Quantz and Rameau.

Antonio Vivaldi's music is generally animated by virtuosic passages and memorable themes. All three movements of the Double Violin Concerto emphasize overall expression of affect rather than exactness of detail.

A playful piece, Johann Joahim Quantz's Concerto for Flute and Orchestra showcases the light and airy timbre of flute inviting attention to the environment or task at hand, while integrating the warmth and body of the string orchestra.

Jean-Phillipe Rameau's music is highly dramatic and showcases a unique expressive facility. This CD features 10 orchestral dances from the opera Naïs, beginning with an intensely rhythmic overture.
